Is Anything Unanalysable?

The answer to the question posed by the title is of course no.

If ‘analyzability’ is the objective, it can always be achieved.

The question is, rather, what makes for an informative analysis.

In answering this question, I will be considering some of the reasons why I have been referred to in print as, among other things, "the present day's most

notorious theorist-basher" (Arnold Whittall).

Famous analytical cruxes in Stravinsky and Boulez will figure.
